Instructions
Everything you need to get your first message on a screen in a few minutes.
1. Set up KarmaBoard
- 1Click Start free trial and sign up with Google or your email. No credit card required.
- 2After signing in, you land on the Create tab. This is where you make new messages and choose live feeds.
2. Add a screen
- 1On your TV, computer or tablet, open a web browser and go to karmaboard.app/player.
- 2The screen shows a 6-character PIN.
- 3On your phone or computer, open the Screens tab, type that PIN and give the screen a name, like "Kitchen" or "Front Window".
- 4That's it. The screen stays paired, even after you close the browser.
Your first screen is free for 7 days. Each screen after that is $9.99 per month. See Pricing.
3. Send to screen or save to playlist?
Every message and live feed you make in the Create tab has two buttons. Here's the difference:
Send to screen
Shows this one message or live feed on a screen right away. It stays there until you send something else.
Use this when: you want one thing on the screen now, like "Happy Birthday, Sam!"
Save to playlist
Adds it to a playlist, a list that loops forever, switching to the next item every few seconds or minutes.
Use this when: you want the screen to rotate through several things, like weather, headlines and a daily special.
To play a playlist, open the Screens tab and pick that playlist for a screen. Any change you make to the playlist shows up on the screen within a few seconds.
Tip: the Playlists tab is for changing things you already saved. To make something new, always start in Create.
4. Three ways to create a message
Tap the board
Tap any flap on the big board and start typing. You can also tap a flap and pick a color or symbol for it. Best when you want full control over where everything goes.
Quick message
Type into the Quick message box and your words are centered on the board for you. The fastest way to make a neat message.
Start with Pixel Art
Open the Pixel Art tab and tap a picture, like a coffee cup or a sailboat. It fills the board. Then tap the empty flaps around the picture and type your words.
Made a mistake? Click Clear board anytime to start over.
5. Live feeds
Below Custom Messages, pick a live feed such as Weather, Headlines, Sports Scores or Pixel Art. Check the preview, then send it to a screen or save it to a playlist. Live feeds update on their own, so you never need to change them.
